 Mark's Silhouette Image!

Monday 24th March 2014.
Theme: Silhouette.

RUTHI MAKES HEARTS!

My daughter, Ruth-Anne (5), makes a silhouette window heart for Dad against the window pane at home on a rainy day. I love how her eye catches light and her hands try work the form of the shape of her heart but most of all and so much more than all that I love what we didn't expect and that's the secret heart shape she makes without realizing it! Can you see it? Can you see the sacred, secret heart of my child? Between the spaces we have hidden hearts. Eye love her!!!

Ok. My first go at this challenge thing, and it is interesting to be challenged because I was, for the entire week; trying to think of what to shoot, what would be cool, what hasn't been done etc. But then this morning I woke up, and I realized that a challenge doesn't need to challenge you to create new exciting content that has never been seen before, rather to challenge you to always be looking, to notice the obvious, or photograph that thing you look at every morning when you wake up. So here it is- my everyday wake up moment before I pull the blinds up. Double silhouette, perhaps triple silhouette!

Micks Silhouette

First post!! ok so i've been dying to learn the double exposure technique which is from back in the film days when you would expose your film twice. New camera's like the MKiii allow you to do it digitally now and in camera which is rad! I had planned to shoot some more today but its raining. I'm still hoping to get out and shoot a few more so possibly i'll post some more images later.

Below is a test shot I shot yesterday as a backup in case of todays rain. Still a lot to improve on my double exposure technique but its kinda cool. Basically its a silhouette shot of my house mate Claudi then the second exposure fills in her silhouette with some greenery from the garden. No photoshop except playing with contrast and color in lightroom.

with a big fat manky copyright logo for good measure ;)

So I had time to get one more in before the effing rain hit! Pity i wanted to shoot a lot more...
